Ladies only: Do you prefer plastic or cardboard applicators?

It seems to me that cardboard applicators are hard to use. They don't glide as smoothly as the plastic applicators and they get stuck so you can push the tampon in. They are also hard to keep a grasp on them while inserting them. Is it just me? Plastic applicators just seem much easier.
Answer:
i personally only use tampax pearl with a plastic applicator. to me, plastic glides in smoother, helps you keep your grip easier, and doesnt collapse as easy as cardboard.
I personally dont like the cardboard ones, the seem very hard to insert and unpleasent, not saying that the plastic one is pleasant. But id go for the plastic ones.
Neither I wear pads but when I have to wear a tampon I use plastic applicators ( Playtex Pearls )
Nah, I agree with you Katie.... 100%. I prefer the plastic applicators, but if I need to use cardboard, I will.... I find the same thing as you with them.
There's always the no applicator option - O.B. Tampons.
Just plastic please. Those cardboard ones stick to you and hurt!
I like plastic applicators because I feel like the cardboard rubs the wrong way. It kinda of hurts when i use a cardboard one...but when I'm desperate, I guess I would. (I like Kotex Tampons, they are a good brand, and are cheap too)
Plastic-but I hate tampons of any kind. They are a necessary evil.
i totally agree with you, i hate the cardboard ones...your exactly right when you say that they are hard to insert...they are just a total pain in the A**. Plastic ones..all the way!
I prefer the plastic for comfort of insertion, but then the "tree hugger" part of me prefers cardboard for the environmental reasons............biodegradab... and all that.
I don't even want to get into recylcling, because I can't imagine that they RECYCLE the plastic from used tampon applicators, although I suppose they may.......
However, when I get cardboard applicators I get the kind with the "petal top" that is rounded, and opens up, rather than the blunt original design that Tampax had in 1820 or whatever it was. Have you tried that type? It's much more comfortable.
If you are also a "tree hugger" and don't want to use plastic because of guilt over recycling issues, try lubricating with a bit of KY Jelly or some other lube. Don't use vaseline, as it's not water soluble and is a breeding ground for infection.
I dislike the cardboard ones. The plastic ones help alot, they just seem so much smoother and as pleasant as something like than can be!
I prefer cardboard. Think about how long it takes to breakdown at a landfill.
