Feeling numbness in my hand, dizziness, and spurts of weakness throughout the day. I only began taking it this morning..should i wait it out? I'm a smoker too by the way

I'm not positive, but i believe numbness could be a sign of a blood clot- especially since you are a smoker. I would definitely call your doctor, being wrong is better than taking the risk. Since its only been in your system for a few hours, i don't think it would be the cause of these symptoms, but i'm not sure. I hope this helps!

I don't think the numbness in hand or weakness is from the pill. dizziness can be a symptom. But since you just started it this morning I highly doubt the other things are from the pill. and usually pill side effects go away as you continue taking them
I would call your doctor, birth control when combined with smoking can cause strokes and heart attacks regardless of your age. He might have put you on one with too high of estrogen. Did you take a morning after also? That could push some people over the top in one dose also.
You may have an allergic reaction to it. Stop taking it and see your doctor he may put you on a different birth control pill, sometimes it's trial and error untill you find one that agrees with your body.
Thats not normal!!!! Also you shouldn't smoke when you are on birth control. It doubles your risk of strokes, blood clots, and heart attacks

i don't think smoking does anything to it. read the label before you take anything. most strong medications say 'don't use and drive any machinery while taking this medication' and 'some side effects may include dizziness blah blah' so don't panic. it has happened to best of us before while taking any medications too. as long as you don't bleed heavily throught your nose or have red eyes so red that people think you've turned into a wolf-woman or pain in your stomach does not stop within 120 hours. you have nothing to worry about.
